FAQ's
To get into the BAS program, do I have to have an associate degree?
Yes, you must have a career associate degree or appropriate career credits. A career associate degree is usually an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or Associate of Applied Technology (AAT). A transfer associate degree (usually an AA or AS) does NOT apply toward the BAS degree. To get more information about the BAS program, go to http://cps.clayton.edu/tech/BASProgram/Default.htm.
May I get more than one AAS degree and a bachelor degree in the same semester?
No, a student may be awarded only one degree in a given semester.
Does my certificate program lead to an associate degree?
Yes, all College of Professional Studies (CPS) certificate programs lead to an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree. For example, the computer network technician certificate program leads to the computer network technology associate program. The office assistant certificate program leads to the office technology certificate, and the office technology certificate leads to the office administration degree. Check your catalog or the appropriate web page to see which certificates lead to which associate degrees.
Will my associate degree lead to a bachelor’s degree?
All Clayton State University Associate of Applied Science degrees (the degree that is offered in the College of Professional Studies) will lead to one of the Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degrees offered at Clayton State University. If your associate degree is from a technical school or two-year college in Georgia and is an AAT or AAS (or career associate degree), it should bridge smoothly into one of the BAS programs in the College of Professional Studies at Clayton State University. If your associate degree is a transfer associate (which means it has mostly general education courses with a few courses related to your major), it will NOT lead to a BAS degree. However, there are other bachelor programs at Clayton State University in which it probably will lead to a bachelor's degree.
Is Information Technology (IT) a part of the College of Professional Studies?

If I want to take a certificate program, are learning support courses required?
