Personal Information

I am an Assistant Professor of Office Administration in the College of Professional Studies. I received my Doctor of Education Degree with a major in Occupational Studies from the University of Georgia. The focus of my Dissertation while working on my Doctorate was “The Career Maturity of General Education Development Students (GED).”  I hold a Masters of Education with a major in Business Education also from the University of Georgia.  My Bachelor of Science Degree in General Business and my Associates of Applied Science Degree in Information Processing both are from Valdosta State University. In addition to instructing and advising students, I am a Faculty Mentor for 1st year college students. I am an active member in several Professional Organizations. I am also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I have been a presenter of my research on many occasions at various professional conferences.  My research interests include: The Career Maturity of At-Risk Individuals; 1st Generation African American College Students Regarding How They Make Decisions when choosing a College and a Career; Successful Minority Community Mentoring Programs Focused on Higher Education and Workforce Education.

I am also a wife and mother of 2 boys (Jordan & Nicholas) ages 7yrs. & 10yrs. old.  When the boys are not keeping me busy with baseball, homework and various other activities, my hobbies include reading and family travel.  Lifelong learning, I realize has been the key to my success thus far. I still have that fire to accomplish as much as I can while I am able. I do not consider myself an expert on everything; however, I have no problem in trying to find an answer to the issue in question. In addition, I am really enjoying working with the students at Clayton State University and I just love seeing the progression of my students each semester.
